{"id":111,"date":"2022-03-08T19:36:19","date_gmt":"2022-03-08T19:36:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rutlandlordlieutenant.org\/garden\/?page_id=111"},"modified":"2025-05-04T09:07:07","modified_gmt":"2025-05-04T08:07:07","slug":"opening-to-the-public","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.rutlandlordlieutenant.org\/garden\/opening-to-the-public\/","title":{"rendered":"Opening to the public"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Old Vicarage garden has been open to the public through the National Gardens Scheme on many occasions in recent years, for the benefit of charity (including a share to St Andrew&#8217;s Church).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We will be open for the National Gardens Scheme on Sunday 18th May 2025, from 2.00pm to 5.00 pm. <\/strong>There will be a stall with plants for sale and delicious home-made teas will be available in the adjacent 12th century church, which is itself well worth a visit. Details are in &#8216;The Yellow Book&#8217; &#8211; website\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ngs.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.ngs.org.uk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020 we were featured in an episode of BBC &#8216;Gardener&#8217;s World&#8217; which was broadcast a few days before our annual opening &#8211; and Monty Don gave our open day a plug.  Wow. We laid on extra parking in a field, but still the result was a traffic jam that blocked the road through the village all afternoon.
